Hail Damage In Phoenix

November 1st, 2010 · 9 Comments

We had a powerful thunderstorm roll into the Phoenix area two weeks ago.  Hail hit several areas of town and caused damage to cars, windows, etc.  Including air vents on air conditioners as seen in this photo.  The “fins” are bent from hail.  There’s a special comb you use to straighten them out.  If it’s not fixed, it could damage the A/C system (now like sucking in air through a straw).

It was a doozie of a storm. Yes, horizontal rain & hail. Many cars were damaged beyond repair.

Yes! Only the left side of my car was damaged because of the WIND. I have 61 dents and broken tail lights. Passenger side is PERFECT. It goes in the body shop TODAY as a matter of fact.

My house in n.e. Phoenix was hit first, destroyed two canopies and I will be getting a new roof because of the hail. The 3 year old a/c unit has some dings, but nothing like the posted picture.

The insurance company totalled our travel trailer as they determined the cost to repair the damage was more than the trailer was worth. I was at work in Scottsdale when my truck got hit. Altogether I had over $18,000 in claims, but that is not what the insurance paid out. Got to love them, right?

It was quite a storm, never experienced anything like that hail before and don’t want to ever again!

My son’s car was totalled due to the hail damage of that storm. My other son doesn’t know yet. At least he lived…he was on the highway during the storm and thought he was going to die! I had to move to SC and missed the whole thing.

While I was changing out the cabinets in my kitchen last month, I found a tool box from the original owners. It was dated May, 1959. Inside it was one of those combs you spoke of. My plumber had an absolute fit over it, so I gave it to him. I did not know what the heck the thing was. No, I don’t get under my kitchen sink cabinets that often. I DID put back the 1/2 gallon jug of Jack Daniels, with another note to any future owners. “Please drink when mortgage is paid off” I won’t drink it, it would explode upon opening. It is also dated May, 1959. All owners of this home have attached notes to the bottle. Some of them are quite funny!

Yeah, I’ve seen some pretty bad ones, looks like someone took a baseball bat and went to town for like an hour on some of the roofs.

If you have any questions about hail damage done to your A/C unit, call Christian Brothers at 623-939-9421. We will be happy to come out and inspect your unit to see if you will need repairs or replacement of your unit. This may be covered and should be under most insurance policy’s. Take advantage now, and call.

Symmetrical design can be simply identified as a beautiful form arising from the proper proportions of the elements
used in the concept. Sometimes designing a cozy home office includes setting aside some space for a rocking chair
and cradle. If you are getting rid of an old pool table, don’t throw out the
