Amateur Real Estate Photography

Here are some examples of how not to take a good real estate picture.

1. Make it blurry.  Creates an aura of mystery.

2. Make it tilted.  For that jaunty look.

3. Take it from inside your car with the window up.  It saves on time and energy.  (by the way, this was the only photo available for this home.)

4.  Have someone else take the photo for you while still inside the car.  Again, it saves on time and energy.

5.  Forget that glass is reflective (of your photography skills).  Let’s nuke this photo and take another from a different angle, please.

6.  Pay more attention to taking the picture than setting up the shot.  It reflects poorly on your photography skills.

7.  Don’t look the part.  Are you selling the house professionally or selling it on a whim, wearing a t-shirt and shorts?  Know your limitations and hire a professional.

When in doubt, ask someone to preview your real estate photos before posting them to the public.  Take more photos when needed.  Digital photos are free!!
