They built a shrine for their family photos.

Clutter in the family room. Clutter in the kitchen too. Clear it all out.

Pan to the right and we see more clutter, a baby in a swing, a soda machine (!), a person standing to the right, and an unevenly painted wall. What would you put away?

The dining room looks really cluttered from this angle.

Too much furniture and whatnot in the master bedroom. Doesn’t look very inviting or relaxing.

That pot rack is visually distracting, as is all the other clutter on the kitchen counters. Christmas tree is still up; the house finally sold in late July.

They have a Nagel print and assorted other unnecessary items in the family room.

Line up the sofas against the wall. That way no one has to look at each other.

What a pain in the butt it is to sell a home. That’s why this seller has a hemorrhoid donut cushion in the family room. The pain & discomfort has kept her/him from straightening up the house.
[Editor: I’ve been told that’s a Boppy nursing pillow for breastfeeding, thank you. The point is that buyers make opinions in 1 second; if it looks like a hemorrhoid cushion, that’s what they’ll think. Put the cushion away for the photo and then there’s no confusion.]

Too bad their priorities are elsewhere. Looks like a very nice home.

It makes total sense to block the window with the entertainment center: there was no other available wall space for it. Right?

Remember to change the real estate promotional photos after Christmas. Otherwise your house might take six months to sell like this one.

This home took over six months to sell too.

Numerous studies have shown that proper home staging helps homes sell quicker and for more money than cluttered homes. This Phoenix home suffered partially due to the Halloween decorations and clutter. It took eight months to sell. Finally sold in late June.

They like lighthouses, Halloween, and dolphins.

Didn’t we see that couch’s partner in the other room? Too many family photos.

I guess the sellers don’t want buyers to enter the family room and check out the fireplace. They’ve blocked off the family room with boxes & furniture.

Someone forgot to make the bed. Does the mattress seem unusually short for the bed frame? Notice the framed Scarface movie poster next to the bed.

The giant furniture and large dark rug make the family room look very small. The fireplace is sooty. What is the white sheet hiding?

Another home needing staging advice and assistance.
Christmas decorations (lights, candy canes) still up in May. Half dirt, half grass lawn. Weight bench in the front yard.

Christmas tree is up. Lots of family photos. Cutesy sayings (”I Love You 2 Gore”??) (”Love Always & Forever”). If they cleared everything out but the furniture, this would be a very nice room (nice floor, nice paint, nice size).

In case they get lost, the signage tells them the next room is the family room. [Editor: I blocked out their name.]

Very dark family room.

They painted the walls with black paint.

When buyers see the clothes rack, they will assume the closets are too small. Cluttered dresser doesn’t help.

There’s a big tree in the child’s room.

One of those glass vessel sinks. But you can see all the plumbing underneath.

They enclosed the patio so that they could fill it with clutter.

More junk from another angle.
