Using gypsum board or sheetrock is so outdated. Everyone’s now using cardboard as drywall.

The seller of this house is very upbeat.
The following comments are actual quotes from the seller, corresponding with each photo.
“Partially rehabbed already.”
“This is a winner.”
“Lots of upside.”
“Up and coming neighborhood.”
“Just like John Mellencamp says…”

These Portland, Oregon house photos were sent by a reader. Thank you. The basement wet bar/pot den could use some help with the ceiling.
Half of the ceiling is exposed. Careful you don’t get insulation in your drink.

In bedroom #2, we see too much of too much stuff.
Hot and cold in this bedroom. There’s a portable heater and a fan.
The chaos continues in the fourth bedroom.
Everything is easily accessible when it’s on the counter. Except for extra light bulbs.
Something’s going on with the cooling system. There’s an air vent in the dining room but they also installed a window air conditioner.
There was a family discussion about adding more furniture, but it was tabled.

There is a recent trend to put signs up describing rooms or activities. Please make it stop.
Are you sure it’s a home?

Macramé was a popular craft activity in the 1970s. Many different knots to learn. Colored beads to add. I helped my mom make macramé hangings when I was a kid.
Latch hook rugs were another popular pastime in the 1970s. I helped my mom make this same Kachina doll rug in the 1970s.
