Amateur addition to a Phoenix home.  The photo’s caption reads, “No heating or cooling to addition.”  The seller forgot to add, “No siding, no insulation, no window, no city building permit.”

In this case, there are four types of siding to this house:  Horizontal siding on the left, stucco or something in the middle, vertical siding on the right, and plywood siding on the right side.  At least the roof looks new.

These three Phoenix homes need help on the outside (and probably the inside too).

You installed a new window?  Great.  Now finish the trim around it and the door, replace the siding, and remove the bricks & debris before putting it on the market.

Are there any redeeming qualities here?  Ugly cheap plywood used as siding with no protection from water & sun damage, no caulking between the boards, etc.  Exposed electric outlet.  Ugly front porch.  Rusty evaporative cooler.  If the seller cares this little about the outside, what’s it look like inside?

It’s cheaper for sellers to make repairs before selling their homes than waiting for buyers to ask for repairs.  Buyers automatically multiply the cost of repairs by 10.

The Indianapolis Colts will lose today in the Super Bowl because under pressure they will fall apart.  Just like this Indianapolis home did.

Ugly first impression.  The house looks nicer without siding.

The exterior of this ugly house had many issues too.  The patio roof is falling down.

They built the patio roof over dirt.  The support posts were placed on dirt.  The ground eroded and took the posts with it.

There is also a big hole near the tree.  They filled the hole with giant stones hoping no one would notice.

Homes by this builder in this subdivision have thin t-111 pressboard siding, sometimes sprayed with a thin coat of stucco.  It doesn’t hold up well to the hot sun or time.

This is how the exterior looks in front.  Homeowners often make the mistake of allowing dirt to pile up against the t-111 siding.  It rots the siding and creates an invitation to termites.

The west side of the house gets punished by the hot summer Phoenix sun.  Regular maintenance would have prevented this.

The New York Jets Will Beat the Indianapolis Colts today because:

1) They will mop up the Colts just like this Newark, New Jersey seller is doing.

2) They have serious game plan, just like this Newark home seller.  The dog is a huge Jets fan too.  This was the main photo for this house.

3) They’ve already decided they’ve won, just like this Newark home is de-sided.
