You wonder if the guy at the Home Depot paint counter was secretly laughing when the order was placed. Check out the crazy color choices at this Phoenix home.
Purple, blue, green, yellow, and red in the kitchen. Buyers love dark kitchens?

Yellow, green, and blue in the living room (and on the ceiling) with wallpaper border too.

Blue and mustard yellow in a bedroom. They might have spray painted the floor with black paint; see the over spray on the closet wall?

Orange and green in a room with no windows. The bent ceiling fan blades tell me this was probably a foreclosure home and the owner was mad. Ceiling fans never come down by pulling on them. I’ve seen this a hundred times. Eventually the angry person gives up.

Help us. Here are three Phoenix homes with questionable taste in flooring.
Tickled pink.

With half of the tile missing, you only have to mop half the room. It’s a real time saver.

This is the living room, so buyers’ eyes will begin to hurt the second they enter the house.

Giant scythe and various other sharp objects on display over the fireplace. Let’s scare the kiddies with images of the grim reaper coming after them.

Giant rake on the wall. Just what diners hope for while they eat. This will help buyers remember the house better. “It’s the rake and grim reaper house!”

A recent web post listed three reasons why short sales stink: your credit score takes a big hit, some states allow lenders to sue you for the price difference, & the grace period is eliminated. More details here from this post.
Here’s a Glendale, Arizona home owner who’s trying to sell his home as a short sale. Let’s say he gets an offer. He’ll then have to prove to the bank that he has a legitimate hardship, like loss of job, loss of spouse, new medical condition, etc. And he’ll have to prove that he exhausted all means to correct his financial situation. Like selling his jet ski, his motorcycle, and his bicycle first!! Good grief.

Phoenix real estate agent Jay Thompson has encountered situations where home owners want to sell as a short sale because their homes’ values have dropped, not because they cannot afford the mortgage. Read more here; it’s mind boggling.
