you mean painting the middles of the little squares green (second photo) doesn’t count as updating? Why, you can hardly tell they’re ugly cabinets then!

I’ve been considering buying a foreclosed townhouse and have come across several listings online with these unfortunate cabinets. While I realize I will have to undate/update anything I may buy, if I see these in the picture I won’t even consider the listing. They are just too ugly!! Really, even in the 70s, people can’t have thought these things looked good. I’d rather have 80s European cabinets then this crap.
