Can’t complain about clutter since everything is organized in this IKEA kitchen. However, functionality & esthetics come into play. Hardly any counter space. Where do you put things going in or out of the frig? Can’t put a bowl or plate next to the stove. Where is the microwave oven? The pantry items & dishes are fully exposed. Dust is a big issue in Phoenix.

Can’t complain about clutter because the family room is picked up and very organized. The IKEA cubbyhole cabinet becomes the focal point of the room, however.

Here in Japan, those exposed kitchen non-cabinets were in almost all homes from the late 60’s until the 90’s. They built them in FRONT of the windows, (windows with glass that is sandblasted so people can’t see in.) Not only was the kitchen dark as night with all the pots ‘n’ pans in front of the window, they were covered in an oily dust. Eewwwwww. This yellow kitchen is just a tad better.

I actually like a lot of color on walls so that color doesn’t bother me too much. I am so tired of the boring, boring same color of beige on the walls that you see so much of now. I guess it is better than white walls.
