Old Stove On Bricks - Update

November 11th, 2009 · 4 Comments

We’ve posted this photo before.  The homeowner retrofitted the fireplace by adding the stove.  The brick supports are a nice touch.  The homeowner put it on the market in June 2008 for $262,500.  Months went by with no offers.  Wonder why?  It was an outdated fixer-upper and over priced.  The seller eventually dropped his price but was chasing the market by then.  Final list price: $150,000.  It sold October 8, 2009 for $135,000 cash.

    It actually sold?
I have to tell you, but everytime I see this photo, I can’t help but crack-up. I may not have the world’s greatest sense of design, but gee whiz, what were these people thinking of?
Notice that the stove has little feet…little brick feet. The poor thing looks like it’s ready to run out of the room, and if it had a chance, it probably would.

Ugly paneling, ugly floor, ugly end table, ugly fireplace, and robotic stove. The ceiling looks clean, though.

Does the stove walk around at night?
