First impressions are crucial in home selling. Buyers base everything on real estate photos. Let’s see how one Glendale, Arizona house compares to itself for wooing buyers.
The kitchen in 2005. Dozens of refrigerator magnets plus a tea pot collection.

The kitchen in 2009 looks so much better.

The back yard in 2009 with dead grass. Yawn.

The back yard in 2005 looked much better with green grass.

And then they ruined the master bath in 2009 with stupid red triangles and polygons.

Looks like the master bath mirror splintered into triangle-shaped bloody shards.

This kitchen is a great example that less is more appealing when selling a home. Unlike the first photo, #2 photo perked my interest immediately with this house.
De-cluttering and de-personalizing are so essential because not everyone has the same taste, and appealing to a broad range is always better for a sale.
I happen to love teapots, too. But if I were selling my house, I know there are people out there, such as Leif, who hate them. It’s nothing personal. I would just pack them up, along with everything else, and get them ready for my new house.
