Hope they sell it in the next ten minutes before buyers no longer want all that trendy stuff.

Good job on destroying a beautiful kitchen and replacing it with something that already looks dated when a new counter and appliances would have done the trick.

NEW Kitchen photo. It looks nice however:

Tile behind the stove would have tied it together.
If they left the black diamonds out, the electrical outlets would not have been such a distraction.

Master bath: Two sinks, two mirrors = two light fixtures (or one very large fixture.)

The bonus room looks very nice. Sunny, inviting.

You’re so right with the ‘trendy’ stuff. I can remember when “stainless” was the new thing out. (20 years ago) Darn I wanted a stainless Viking stove! I had a Magic Chef “Coppertone” stove, fridge. Then the sales rep at the appliance store told me “You dont want stainless with oceanfront property.” He persuaded me to purchasing black. And you know what they say “once you had black….”

Then came the stylestone, solid surface and the granite countertops trend.

The summer of ‘08 I replaced the shallow twin basin stainless sink (yuck) with an extra deep, single basin, *black* enamel. BOC I needed to replace the countertops. NO WAY was I going to buy granite. What happens if I dont like it 10 years down the road? Thats big money getting tossed if I decide to redecorate. I went with a great “granite” looking laminate. Rust/brown/*black* to match the faucet/drawer knobs/lighting fixtures and the laminate has a sparkle in it. If I dont like it 10 years down the line, Im still ahead of the game.

I love the old Coppertone appliances. Great look for the Southwest. I saw in a designer magazine a brushed bronze refridgerator freezer, stove, dishwasher, microwave…Im tempted! Hey, I saved alot of $$ from not buying granite….

These “home” shows on the TV , when prospective buyers are complaining theres no stainless or granite, it make me CRAZY!!!!

I’m not crazy about the remodel either. The master bath is ugly - Tuscan-style - already outdated. I would be turned off by all the new sod that would need so much water. The kitchen is meh. However, the bonus room looks really good.

I like the before bathroom photo. I had those stupid floor tiles on the shower walls of the last condo I rented and HATED them! I could never get them clean, because they just always looked like they had hard water stains on them. Bathrooms need to be shiny! And since when do walls need to match the floor? Harumph!

I think they did a beautiful job on the kitchen and bathroom remodel. I’ll take trendy over grungy anyday.

When we remodel we decided to get what we liked this time around, we also know this is it, we are not going to sell anytime or ever. The homes we owned before we knew we were going to sell within four years due to the job….So we always stay with what sold.

This time around, I got my cherry wood cabinets, hardwood floors, yes stainless steel built ins, title backslash …I went for it! I love it! It’s me, for the first time I feel like it’s my kitchen, not someone else ~

    So do what you like….;)

I think the owners did a good job on this house. I’m not a fan of following the trends and fashion, but if I were intending to flip a house I probably would go with what has the broadest appeal. Most people like the “Tuscan” colors and finishes even though they peaked in popularity a few years ago. Who can predict what the next big trend will be?
