What I don’t understand is why people don’t just rip out the carpeting when it gets that gross. People don’t want to be reminded that someone else lived/lives there but to show nasty carpet like that only reinforces the idea of previous owners…not to mention who knows what other nasty is lurking in the place.
IMO, no carpet is better than that.

Lizo, I agree the carpet should be removed. The listing could state the asking price was reducted X amount of $ to put down a new one. A bare subfloor would be better than that filth.
