Perfect Open Kitchen & Great Room

November 30th, 2010 · 10 Comments

The caption for this photo reads, “Open kitchen.”  More like open the phonebook and call a contractor and open your checkbook.  I like how that 2nd refrigerator looks like it’s about to fall back over the “railing.”

Shifting to the left and looking back, we can indeed see the 2nd refrigerator on the edge of the raised platform.  That railing doesn’t look very secure.

And take a few steps down and you’re in the incredible great room with wood paneling and orange carpet.

    I think orange shag and dark wood paneling must have been sold together judging from its commonality.

    I want to know what’s inside/under that platform. What’s its purpose for being?

    The caption LIED. That isn’t a kitchen. It is amateur hour and a huge joke. Please tell me that this isn’t someone’s idea of “income property”. That is a really low ceiling up there. The freezer looks like it is almost touching the ceiling.
    I agree with Murphy. Why?

  • 4 Number of Real Estate Professionals | Jeff M Reiter // Nov 30, 2010 at 3:47 pm

    […] Here is a list of year by year member of the National Association of Realtors.  The peak was 2006 with 1.36 million real estate professionals.  In 2000, there was 767 thousand.  So  the total nearly doubled in 6 years.  As of October of this year, there are 1.08 million members.   Roughly 300,000 have left the profession in less than 3 years.  We are losing 2 in our office this month.  This is not surprising due to the housing industry slowing down significantly.  I would expect this number to continue to decrease at least for awhile. With that I leave you with a link of a kitchen from http://www.uglyhousephotos.com.  This kitchen was described by the real estate professional, using the term loosely, as “open”. @Murphy: That is where they stored their garbage.

    That carpeting is disgusting. It looks like the garbage can spilled some orange liquid onto the carpet.

    @Murphy
    Maybe there is a grow op in there. run by hobbits. Or maybe that is where they hide the bodies.

    Good grief, there’s no way I’d survive in that home. I’d have a broken neck before I even cracked open the Bourbon bottle(s). Nice note about the #2 fridge, and I submit that those few stairs look absolutely treacherous. I like the position of the chair in pic #1, as if someone is taking cover from an angry spouse, but doing so as close to the booze stash and/or cookie jar as possible. Or perhaps they’re trying to cook while intoxicated, a locally famed sport, iirc.
