Let’s help this Phoenix home with staging their furniture. The fireplace should be the focal point of the room. How about we move the loveseat away from the fireplace and perhaps face it towards the full couch for conversation? Let’s move the cherub to the back yard. And move the fish tank out of the room. The rug stays or goes? Pictures hung too high?

Let’s help this Pensacola, Florida home with staging by removing everything. If they had a dining table (or a folding table with a table cloth), you could put the folding chairs around the table. Otherwise, the room looks like doctor’s waiting room.

Let’s help this South Bend, Indiana home with staging by removing everything but the chairs and couch (minus the pilows and blankets). You can’t appreciate the coved ceiling with all that clutter.

Let’s help this Springfield, Massachusetts home with staging. The first thing I notice is that the coffee table is turned wrong. How about moving the loveseat on the left to under the window (but out a foot or two from the window), moving the full couch to the loveseat’s location, and moving the rocking chair to the right of the fireplace? Then we can deal with the rug and lace curtains.

The carpet over the rug is classic stupid. GET RID OF IT.

First Picture: Hard to do anything real well because of the bad placement of the fireplace. Staging problems started when the house was built that way. Second and Third Pictures: I like your ideas. Fourth Picture: Angle the couch in the far left corner so there is access to the window, place the carpet in front of the couch, leave the loveseat where it is but slightly angled toward the couch. Coffee table in front of couch on rug and the rocker to the right of the fireplace facing the couch. Only thing on the mantle are 3 pillar candles different heights, only a large book on the coffee table, some logs in the log basket, and the lace curtains removed.

Write the check, then arrange it any way you like.

1st It has a fireplace? At least all the furniture is out of the way so they can have relay races or play their Kinect.
2nd Looks like they packed everything up and are living out of their camping box. Been there done that.
3rd It cracks me up when people push everything against the walls. Plenty of room for Wii.
4th The heck with the coffee table, what about that gawd awful paint color?
Aw, that was fun…now show us some more!

Photo 1 is actually a pretty good “tip for the buyer” shot: We finally decided the best thing to do was ignore the fireplace and so will you.
I just can’t get past the lace curtains in photo 4. Maybe drape them over the ugly mirror above the fireplace?
