Neat Idea In Concept - Bad Idea In Practice

March 29th, 2011 · 8 Comments

People and their clever ideas.  Too bad they don’t stop to consider reality.  For example, this Glendale, Arizona owner added nice looking barn doors to his kitchen.  So far, so good.

But…the doors are for the refrigerator and the pantry.  So EVERY TIME you want something from the refrigerator, you have to open the barn door plus the frig’s door.  How many days would it take for that to get old?  You’d end up leaving the barn door open all the time.

He’s got a smaller-size refrigerator too so a side-by-side or normal-sized fridge would probably not fit in the space. I guess he needed to keep it small so he could fit the extra large vat of lard on top of it.

I thought it was going to open to a built in sub-zero or something… wow

Unless the closet is ventilated, they’re using a lot of extra electricity to keep the interior of the fridge cool by trapping the hot air.

That fridge won’t last long without ventilation. Overheating is in the NEAR future.

That is a lot of lard.

( By the way, you spelled “pantry” as “panty”. Just letting you know. )

Eric, Thank you. I corrected it. Too much lard clouded my thinking.

… and you know what they say about leaving the barn door open.
