  It’s funny to think that someone thought those cabinets looked good enough to put in hundreds of homes. Hid-EEEE-ous!

  The second and last photos (pecan/Maple?) are actually pretty cool. The ones with the highlighted detail,that look like Hershey bars but in a bad way, are awful.

  One thing about those cabinets is that they were probably pretty expensive to make with all those raised panels. Not your typical ‘builder basics’. They are still butt ugly though….

  Go to jflong.com and then click on About Us and read about this man who built those “ugly kitchen cabinets.” I believe reading about him will give you new respect for this builder.

  Julia, you are right. I’ve made numerous mentions in the past that Mr. Long was a well-respected philanthropist.

  Wow! And I thought the cabinets I had in a new house in Dallas with gold plastic inserts were ugly. It was the ’70’s, but they were ugly. These are worse. Mr. Long can’t help having bad taste, regardless of what a great guy he is/was.

  The more I see the John Long cabinets, I have begun to like them. Anyone willing to ship me some, I live in Alabama. With the market for house sales down, I am going to stay put in my paid for home.
