Diamond In the Rough

Here’s a Meridian, Mississippi home in need of major renovation.  But it has a really cool vibe to it.  Just needs someone with vision to make it a super home.

Back deck.  Offered for only $58,500.

Built in 1975.  That’s a trippy chandelier.  Looks like a giant spider.  The overall feel of the vaulted living room is kinda groovy.

One of the bathrooms.  Olive green sink, toilet, and tub.  Why is there a shower head at the end of the bathtub?

All possibilities are dependent on the condition of the wood walls. There is water damage under the deck. It would take a lot of work, but the possibilities are there. First thing is to get rid of the overwhelming paneling. Of course, that is assuming it is paneling and not the outside walls. Someone really had fun with angles and room shapes. To answer your question on picture #8 - “To have a shower, of course”.

Yeah, there’s been major water damage all through this place. I wouldn’t touch it.

Whoa! I love this house! It needs a good polishing, and hopefully it can be saved, because it looks like there’s been some water damage, but it is a really interesting house.

I think you were sarcastic about “really cool vibe to it”, but actually, yeah- it does, at least some of it. But yes, it will require enormous work :(

A classic “get-back-to-nature” mid seventies house.

Letting my nerdiness show, but I’d love to replicate this house in the Sims 2. I did the same with my own house so I can try out decorations and renovations before committing to them. Is there a floor plan or online listing I could look at for more details?

If you look closely, there’s water damage everywhere, so it’s very likely that the house’s structure is damaged and moldy. What I would do is tear down the house and rebuild it to look like it originally did, but with a nicer interior.

This is obviously hurricane or flood damage. Don’t bother rebuilding, it could happen again in Miss.

My aunt was the last owner of this house. Sadly lost it. I had my wedding shower there. It really is a super neat house!
