American Horror Story is a macabre TV show on FX on Wednesdays. It centers around a haunted house and its current and past living or dead owners.
This home in Glendale, Arizona was considered for the set. A true fixer-upper. They could afford the $60/month in DirecTV satellite service but not $60/month in repair supplies?

Years of neglect and lack of maintenance. A damaged ceiling, for example. How do you ignore that?

A bathroom in disrepair.

The shower needs a lot of help.

The shower pan is cracked.

The bathtub in the other bathroom is also damaged. Terrible patch job. Is that Bondo?

Dirty, damaged walls.

Look. More ceiling damage. Did they live in denial?

The patio roof is shot. Even the repair patch is ruined.

Ok, the roof and ceiling could have been water damage that wasn’t fixed. But the rest of this looks like someone with real anger management problems. Wouldn’t touch this one. Don’t even want to guess what is growing in the walls.

We forget our troubles when the TV is on.

I don’t think anger explains the bathroom shortcomings.

In that condition, the house better be cheap. I’d happily buy it for the right price!

The bathroom problem is the manufacturer’s fault. Those tub or shower enclosures are fibreglass or acrylic, and they are soooo flimsy. Even if you were super careful, they would crack. They are as fragile as eggshells. I think they are crap. Especially the fibreglass. You would need to pay extra to get top of the line acrylic if you want it to last a few years, but they need constant replacing. Not like those good old enameled steel that lasted a century.
