Selectively thin 4 of the 5 wild grasses in that yard, have a little patience while they spread, keep the edges trimmed, maybe add a rock border, and you could have a great no-maintenance, environmentally-friendly native landscape. What looks ugly now could be turned into a great gift from Mother Nature.
