I sort of like the backsplash in the top photo; maybe because the wood looks equally intense.

I’ve been staring at that mosaic floor for 3 hours and can’t make out one image.

Hmm. I think if it’s done right (and none of these are), it could look OK as a (small) accent on a floor, but not on the counters or backsplashes.

I’ve always wondered what I could do when we run out of replacement tiles for our floor — now I know, I have to save all the tiles with chipped corners and when push comes to shove I’ll just break them up and make a mosaic patch job like they did in photo #3, and throw a rug over it.

I dunno… with the horrid green brick walls, the dirty crappy flooring, and the lack of upper kitchen cabinets in the second photo, I think the mosaic backsplash is the least of your worries.

Oh, wait, it’s on the counter too?! Yikes…

The last one with the L shape is actually pretty cool, except it ends too quickly. Also they paid quite a bit for the listello border and cheaped out on the inside.. would have looked tons better to extend the listello and lay inside tile on the diagonal.

The knotty pine cabinets in the first pic and the wood paneled walls in the last pic are much uglier than anything else in these pics.
