The good news is that we’re seeing fewer and fewer of these ugly John F. Long builder kitchen cabinets nowadays.

I can’t believe that someone would go to the expense of putting granite countertops on these cabinets. And then put a white sink on the granite!!

Are these cabinets weird sizes? Why not replace those hideous doors? They are obviously well built cabinets even if they look like crap. They have lasted a long time. #3 doesn’t look like a Long house. There is a window over the sink!!

One of my favorites! Take crappy cabinets and slap some granite on them.

My Mother is in a John F Long home built 1972 and it has a window over the sink. It also doesn’t have these cabinets. She bought in 1990. The cupboards were old so looked original.

These cabinets are hideous. That being said, somehow the cabinets in the first photo aren’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I think painting all of it the same color makes it a little less painful to look at. Of course, you need to take my opinion with a grain of salt…..the kitchen I am currently living with is a huge trainwreck and I can’t afford to fix it. I would take any one of these kitchens in a heartbeat.

Same here, Mama Cas. I never look for perfect, but I do like pleasant. Usable is most important for me. So, I don’t mind (in first pic) the cabinets, the white sink and I would prefer laminate to the granite, which has become common, IMO.

The first one isn’t too bad. No 3 is classic!
Sometimes ultra modern is boring
