If you’re thinking of buying an older home in Reading, Pennsylvania, be prepared for small closets. We’ve seen a lot of homes there built 1890-1925 with tiny closets. The owners have had to create open closets. It doesn’t show up well in real estate photos.
This just tells buyers, “Hey, we don’t have enough closet space here.”

“We had to take drastic measures.”

“We won’t even consider packing it all away while selling.”

“My home doesn’t have enough storage. Please buy it anyway.”

“I might need it someday. I’m working on several projects too.”

My smallest bedroom is my closet. 1940 houses have tiny closets as well. I don’t have guests stay in the closet. It has worked out well for me. If I were to sell, it would be turned back into a bedroom before listing.
