weird, My old roommate and I used to live in a very old apartment that had a room like this off the kitchen, i guess it was a breakfast nook. Ours was just as grungy, (minus the paint brush marks on the wall) We called it the Tomb of Doom Room.

It’s for a TV and vcr to be placed high on a dresser.

The archway in that picture looks awfully familiar. Just like the one I saw in the picture of my great-grandmother’s house. it lead into her formal dining room, so my guess is that it was suposed to be a formal dining room. That’s my guess.
