I get claustophobic just thinking about sleeping up there that close to the ceiling !

Just do not sit up in the middle of the night while the fan is running….(cue slasher music)
I do not understand the height of these bed set ups.
I have seen these in some of our rental units. The Tenants ask to borrow a hacksaw to cut them down.
They must look good in the store with 20 ft ceilings.

Heat rises and we live in the desert so I think you need the fan.
