These Mesa, Arizona sellers really like movies. Must have spent a fortune on videos & dvds. Over 400 movies! At $10/each, that’s $4000. At $15/each, that’s $6000. So much for Missy’s college fund.

They taught Missy to collect things. Like horses and such.

A neighbor “collected” video tapes. When those went out in place of DVDs he tried to sell them at a garage sale for 50 cents each. He estimated he had over $8,000 tied up in them and got $20 back. Couldn’t even give them away. Now he has several hundred DVDs that he admits he doesn’t watch. They are covered with dust most of the time.
I just don’t understand that kind of spending and dust-collecting.

Oh Mahler, why did you have to remind me of the 500 albums I currently own, ( and have not listened to because I no longer have a record player…) and I won’t sell because they are worth a heart of gold.
I know. I’m holding out for Ebay.

Maria, I solved my turntable problem last Christmas with a splurge buy at Target. Most of the major retailers stock an affordable, cute retro-look music “station” around that time. It plays “everything”, including LPs, cassettes, CDs, most MP3 players, a radio….although no 8-track.
Some models even record LPs in MP3 format. On a side note, a friend often makes very good money selling vintage records. DVDs, though, not so much.

I have a small collection of vinyl that I love for the cover art. I have some framed on the wall in my media room. Groovy!
And a ton of old 45’s that I’m holding onto out of nostalgia.
It doesn’t make sense to collect new media these days when it is all available in other ways.
