Four Camden, New Jersey homes with different interpretations on window treatment design.
Matchy-matchy is a no-no here.

Use color in the drapes to distract from the room’s flaws.

If you’re going to go over the top, go all the way.

Monochromatic mess.

I happen to love toile de jouy wallpaper. All they need to do is change out the curtains for crisp white, change out the dinette for a French style wood table and chairs, tear off the blinds and highlight the colonial windows, add a large bowl of huge purple and white blooms, light the candles on the wrought iron chandelier, burn down the house…

Maria — I was with you the whole way with your post and then got to the “burn down the house” and had the biggest LOL! Funny!

I’m surprised that last room is in Camden. Aside from the curtains it is nice.

and they have curtains all drawn so they do not have to look outside at Camden or NJ?

The first two look like crack shacks. The 3rd one looks like a bordello.

In #1, it looks like they are very poor. In #2, it looks like a drug den or student rental, #3 looks like a bordello. As for # 4, the candle light fixture is a major fire hazard, not to mention vulgar, goth and ugly. The curtains are ugly and the cheap furniture disgusting. I do like the wallpaper.
