Maybe that family likes the sports bar look?

I don’t know why, but this reminds me of Super Mario Brothers.

Is that mosquito netting or what? Those painted bricks are just tacky and distracting as is the TV positioning is.

I think this was a sincere attempt to decorate in a creative way and to find a place for the TV, so it could be watched from the sofa, which we can’t see, facing it across the room.
It looks like a solid something behind the table and I’m wondering if there was a fake fireplace at one time, or if the brick look is to make it have a bistro appearance.
Whatever, at least it’s clean and shows how there could be a dining area in that tiny space.

I agree with Mahler. Maybe there is no dining room in the house, but the owners really wanted one so they used one end of the living room.

A mosquito net partition.
Agree probably no dining area, so they created one.
Draw curtains when eating so you do not have to swat flies while you are eating…

Most newer Arizona homes don’t have dining rooms we have a great room where the kitchen, dining area, and living room all share one large space. Great for parties, but you have to keep your kitchen clean because you can always see it from the living area.

I’m wondering if that is a sheet of brick veneer?
