A Real Crack House

October 24th, 2012 · 4 Comments

Over the decades, a few cracks here and there are considered normal.  Not sure if this is normal.  Any experts care to chime in?

More cracks.  From the floor to the window.

More cracks.  From a window to the ceiling and across.

And across the ceiling.  Might want a structural engineer to inspect the house.

Personally, I would hang wallpaper to cover the walls and do some fancy gold and emerald faux sponge action on the ceilings, done.

A few cracks are one thing, but black mold seeping out of them is a red flag!

Not an expert but I’d say it’s resulting from settling and the foundation is in trouble. Lots of $ needed for repairs.

In California, those cracks would undoubtly be earthquake damage. Of course, if this house is in Phoenix, well, I’m not sure. Do you guys get quakes? Cause if not, I’d say such damage is dued to a super-colossal extraterrestrial spacecraft landing on the roof.
