Depending on the particular design and compatibility with the decor in the room, murals can be tasteful and original.

yuck. These murals remind me of my childhood doctor’s office.

I don’t mind the murals, but I hate that they put furniture against them it just makes the rooms look cluttered.

I love a well appointed mural, but none of these work because the surrounding furniture is neither kitsch nor minimal enough to compliment them.

Gary Ridgeway aka the Green River Killer had a woodsy wall mural reminiscent of the forested areas where he dumped his victims’ bodies. Just throwing that out there to anyone thinking of hanging one!
