Before Back Yard. The house was purchased like this for $107,000. Perfect fix-n-flip opportunity.

After Back Yard. After remodeling, it sold for $160,000.

So much better. I don’t understand the can lights in the kitchen, except they are cheap. I dislike can lights though.

Why did they leave the space empty over the sink? It needs something there.

These before and after series always makes me feel hopeful and optimistic.

I preferred the dark cabinets and the built in oven and cooktop in the before kitchen. It had character. The new kitchen is bland and looks low cost.

Everything looks bland and like Home-Depot-special-cheap in the new kitchen. Someone will probably want to rip that - and the flooring - out in a decade because it will look dated by then. IMHO, it is right now. Also, you guys live in the desert, right? What’s with all the green lawns? *Sigh*
Love your blog, though. I live in LA, and wish we had someone doing this here! Horrible nightmares inside these homes, but the worst ones don’t have photos on the MLS.

Nancy, I hear you. However, at $160,000 and being in Scottsdale, that kitchen is right on the money.
