There is all the difference in the world between vintage/retro and just plain OLD. This comes under the second heading even though it is obviously well kept and clean.

I got a kick out of all the scalloped edges on the woodwork. It looks like there is a second fireplace, but it’s in a funny location by a side door or back door. Another thing is, the multicolored carpet seemed to have sparkles in it. Could it be the light?

I bought a wood bar just like the one in the picture when I was a bachelor. It was my computer station and had a red light. I always wondered how it was used before I had it. Now i know.

You couldn’t buy carpeting like that nowadays if you wanted it…just think of all the years of stains and other DNA it helped mask.

Gross…the rock wall design and vomit-orange carpet in the last picture are…not retro, just outdated and ugly.
