Court-Ordered Sale

October 1st, 2013 · 3 Comments

It finally sold!  1795 days on the market and finally sold!  That’s 5 years!  Actually more than 5 years.  They tried selling it for $159,000 in late 2006 for 4 months.  No sale.  Then tried selling it in Spring 2008 for $99,500, but no sale.  Then again in 2009 at $79,500; no sale.  Then again November 5, 2009 at $79,500 with no offers.  Lowered the price to $32,000 on January 21, 2011 and still no offers until Summer 2013.  It finally sold at $39,000.

It was sold as a major fix-up “not for amateurs.”

The court ordered it sold due to a family dispute over a lien on the property.  The tenants were family members who did not pay rent.  And they had dogs that were dangerous.

“not for amateurs.” Run! Run now, while you can! :-)

(Sorry, I’ve spent 7 years doing home improvements, and doing major ones again for the past 2 weeks. I’m a bit shell-shocked…)

This needs a total redo and it’s probably not a very good neighborhood - I wouldn’t look at it twice, lol

I feel bad for the new neighbors of the occupants
    wherever they moved.
