#1 is a beautifully preserved bathroom but what a strange lamp it has. Don’t think you would be getting much light from the fixtures in either bathroom.

Picky is just being so, well… PICKY again! It’s right there in the name, “picky”! Anyway, the 2 lights on each side in the bathroom reminds me of the “Bubble Lighting” from the 1974 house that I grew up in. Yeah, I’m glad people actually used their noggins back then, and put a wall where the toilet is to block it when somebody’s going! I wish someone could tell me why they just don’t do that in most cases now days. Maybe if someone knows or finds out you could just comment right back!

I agree, Joshua. That wall is necessary to keep germs away from the vanity. I also wish they still built them. I lived in a 1988 house that had it for 14 years, and though everything else about that house was a nightmare, I do miss the bathrooms. ….With the above photos, I find the first one fascinating. I wouldn’t mind it as my basement bathroom. The powder blue fixtures are gorgeous, and the lights match the Victorian charm of the Priscilla curtains, which tie in with the powder blue theme. I find the second bathroom more functional with the partition, but I have an aversion to the choice of color for the fixtures, as well as the overall look of the room.

Ha, we bought a house in 2011 that belonged to a very elderly couple that had lived in it since the early 1950’s. The bathroom had rose wallpaper border, a blue countertop like the one shown above (single, not double), 1960’s era tile, and those globe lights hovering above the vanity. It looked like it belonged in a French whorehouse. It was very entertaining to happen upon this blog and find these photos. LOL
