Hot item for Fall 2014: a decorative shovel. Very trendy.
It has a rooster painted on it! And raffia ribbon on the handle!
It elevates this kitchen.
A few days later, we spotted another shovel used as decoration at another Phoenix home. Right in the middle of the living room. Now that’s a true statement piece. Halloween and Thanksgiving are coming up. I’m rushing over to Home Depot right now to pick up some shovels and then to Hobby Lobby for acrylic paints, brushes, and raffia!

Unusual tile patterns, odd structural changes, and/or amateur remodeling can scare buyers. Because they know it will require lots of work and dust to change it.
Today’s buyer would rather pay more for a house that is remodeled or in good/clean condition than a house that requires finishing a project.
