Three kitchens that are trying to win over buyers.
Step-saver kitchen for sure. Not a lot of upper cabinets, seems cramped, and where does the refrigerator go?

Red is an energetic color that supposedly stimulates the appetite but ends up suppressing a buyer’s appetite for this home.

Someone thought it was cool to make the cabinets look old and tired and dirty.

That last kitchen looks like they got one coat of primer over dark cabinets and didn’t finish the job.
I think all three are fixable with paint. That is, if you want a fixer-upper instead of paying for a move-in ready kitchen.

My sister put a red Ikea kitchen in her new lake house. And she hates it! She says it feels like there is a fire truck parked in her kitchen.

I think the fridge is just off to the right in a small entryway to the back door, where the “icebox” used to be.
I’d like to remodel that first kitchen. The black cabinet doors need to be sanded to remove the horrible streaky paint job. Then the cabinets painted the same white color as the tile. Light gray wall paint and stainless steel accessories would make it look contempory. White walls and red accessories would make it look retro-cute. Or soft sage green walls would make it look country.
And no, I don’t have anything else to do today. Why do you ask?

I meant to say redecorate that kitchen, not remodel it. I do know the difference.
$50 and some elbow grease would make it look great.
Everyone wants “more storage” but to me that is just hoarding behind closed doors.

In kitchen number two, those are the style of my new oak cabinets. Should I varnish them to match the hardwood floors, also oak, or paint them? What would sell? I have all new upgraded stainless steel appliances, which are staying. Any ideas?
My very first home had day glow orange and black tiles from Spain. It was all the rage in the United Kingdom, at the time. They only installed lower cabinets which were day glow orange and white. I had a 5 foot by 12 foot single paned window. Coldest kitchen ever.

In what universe was this kitchen ever considered classy?
