If something’s old, how long do you have to keep it? Rusty fireplace/stove in Mesa, Arizona. Will Rustoleum help this? Too far gone? Not worth saving?

It can be salvaged with a product called Stove Black. Just not sure it has enough value to make it worthwhile. How in the world did an indoor stove get this rusty? Does the stack leak? Or is the patio tiled?

Our friends have a room with a fireplace like that off their main family room. It’s paneled and is so cozy. Then again I live on the East coast. Not sure if Arizona gets cold enough for a fireplace.

It seems to be an outdoor stove which is weird for AZ. I would fix it up though. Using rust prohibitor and then a spray paint for metal can be used. Id probably paint it tangerine or aqua cause Im silly like that.
