It’s not real brick. A Phoenix home, two story, two walls, within the last 2.5 decades. It’s not real brick.

Make it stop. Looks like termites chewed the drywall.

From a Peoria, Arizona home. At least this one looks fake.

Did they texture the wall with crumpled tissue paper and glue?

What is with the damaged walls look? Yuck!! And to answer your question, yes that is what was used. It is called Faux Suede. May as well plan on replacing sheetrock cause this isn’t coming off anytime soon. Unless you don’t want it to come off, of course.

I think that last one is like what my step mother in law did. You take brown paper bags crinkle them up and apply them to the wall. then you either paint over them or apply some kind of finish, I can’t remember.

I did that faux finish (not the brick) in a tuscan kitchen I once had. I used a sea sponge. It was very subtle though.

#2 looks like the termites have been gnawing on the mirror too.

No, they textured the wall with tortillas.

Run down houses are being remodeled to look nice, and nice houses are being remodeled to look run down. I have an idea… why not buy a run down house and live in it as-is! hehe

Jozef, you are so right! As a matter of fact, your insights always blow my mind. I dub you the philosopher of ugly house photos!

#1 & 2 looks like it could be a nice house if you fixed the walls. Don’t know about the barn door and upside down houseplant action going on though?
