Today is Independence Day in America. Home sellers are celebrating across the country.
This is Schultzie the Schnauzer, from Phoenix (per the photo’s caption).

Patriotic shower curtain in Garden City, Kansas.

An interpretation of the American flag by Joey, age 9, from Mesa, Arizona.

Things are looking up in Elmira, New York.

These Carbondale, Illinois sellers like to wipe their hands on the American flag. Do they have a matching floor mat too?

A little Americana in this Peoria, Arizona kitchen.

These Apache Junction, Arizona sellers made a fake saguaro cactus statue and painted it like the flag.

The pillow is upside down. Ugh. Phoenix home. Section 8a of the United States Flag Code states, “The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.” Perhaps this is a distress sale?

Somebody died, and their family cried, and that is why these people can display the US Flag any way they want to. Believe it or not, that is part of our freedoms, too. But I still don’t like it!!!

Probably all of these come under the category of, “they meant well.” Most people who have anything with a flag on it somewhere in their house, think of themselves as patriotic and proud of it. Sometimes I find it amazing, but that’s the way it is….
My favorite in the photos above is Schultzie, who I’ll bet is the baby of the house!
Happy Fourth of July! Thanks for your many holiday photos, year ’round!
