King of the Jungle

A few days ago, we posted a photo of a taxidermy hoard, with a polar bear and dozens of dead animals.

We have two more photos to share, thanks to Cory Chalmers of 1-800-Hoarders.com.  For anyone who’s seen the Hoarders TV show (airing on Monday nights on A&E TV; season finale this Monday, February 4th), you’ll recognize Cory as their clean-out expert.  Cory runs his own clean-up service Steri-Clean Inc. (aka 1-800-Hoarders).

At a recent cleaning job, Cory was surprised to see this in the bathroom.

He also saw this hoard of dead animals in another room.  The owner put a crown on the lion; King of the Jungle.  And the owner is now officially King of the Idiots.

OMG.. I would run screaming in horror from that last house… a cheetah? A lion, a tiger, and possibly a SNOW LEOPARD? Except for the lion (I think) those are all internationally endangered cats and have been protected for many years. I hope this owner rots in you-know-where !

Well, at least these poor guys don’t poop all over the place.

The first picture, in the bathroom - is horrifying.

I guess I could let my zoo membership lapse if I knew these folks?

Snow leopard can still be legally hunted, though very rarely, but not imported to the US, Namibia gets about 150 CITES export permits to legally hunt Cheetah every year (again not exportable to the US but ok basically everywhere else) and the Tiger is probably older than most of our grandparents. They are not well displayed of course, but it is actually quite amazing that the owner was able to gather up legal examples of these species in one place!

Taria: or you could let your museum membership lapse.

Disgusting and creepy. Dead animals would put me off FAR more than live cats or dogs in a house.

This makes me very angry and upset
I know many hunters, and they do not like these types of hunters
It’s killing for sport, not food.

Kind of creeped out by the wolf plastered up against the wall in that bathroom. Not natural.
