The Final Warning exotic sidearm introduced in Destiny 2 Lightfall might need to be nerfed. Several fans have called the gun as “absolutely cracked,” “insane,” and even “game-breaking.” Not only can gun fire multiple rounds with increased stability, but its bullets can track targets around walls and over cover.

To boil it down, the Final Warning exotic functions similar to the smart pistol in Titanfall. To demonstrate the power of this sidearm in Crucible, Destiny Bulletin on Twitter shows off a video (posted above) of the gun’s bullets homing onto targets like a hawk. This is due to the exotic’s Pick Your Poison trait, which also gives bullets greatly increased velocity and the ability to deal extra critical hit damage on marked targets.
Then for a tactical advantage, DestinyTracker on Twitter highlights how the bullets can be shot over a shield (for instance, the Barricade ability of a Titan character) and hit an enemy without much trouble. A YouTube user named Luckyy 10P explains this defensive strategy even further, calling the sidearm “game breaking.”
While some users comment that Final Warning may need a nerf or be disabled in PvP in an update, some believe that it’s actually working as intended. Players do need a fair amount of skill to bring out the gun’s full potential, and there are some strategies to avoid its tracking abilities. It’s still early to say whether this exotic needs a nerf, so we’ll see what Bungie does with the gun in future patches for Destiny 2.
