Digital Bros. Digital Entertainment has revealed the Assetto Corsa 2 release date window as Spring 2024 in its latest financial report. Kazunori Yamauchi, the CEO of Polyphony Digital, recently hinted that Gran Turismo 8 is also in production, but it’s likely that the game won’t release before Assetto Corsa 2 does.
The Assetto Corsa franchise has sold over 28 million copies
Digital Bros., which publishes video games under its 505 Games brand, acquired Assetto Corsa developer Kunos Simulazioni in 2017. Its latest half-year financial report reveals “the second version of Assetto Corsa” is already in development and is scheduled to launch in Spring 2024. It’s unclear what platforms Assetto Corsa 2 will be on, but a PS5 release is expected.

The report also shares that the Assetto Corsa games continues to “overperform.” Over the first half of the 2022-2024 fiscal year, it has exceed over 12 million euros in revenue. That’s impressive given that Assetto Corsa Competizione released on PS4 all the way back in June 2020 and was ported over to the PS5 last year in February.
Moreover, the racing franchise overall as exceeded over 104 million Euros and has sold over 28 million copies as of December 31, 2022. Assetto Corsa Competizione is the official video game for the Blancplain GT World Challenge and for the FIA Motorgame Esport Tournament.
Meanwhile, all we know about GT8 so far is that it already has a theme and that it will likely have PSVR 2 support.
