Sony’s pulling Marvel’s Avengers PS Plus Extra version on March 31st, making it the tenth game to be de-listed this month. Eight games are set to be pulled next week, and WWE 2K22 left the service earlier in March.
Marvel’s Avengers PS Plus Extra, Premium exit coincides with end of support for the game
On March 31st, Crystal Dynamics will end content support for Marvel’s Avengers, so it makes sense for Sony to let players have a go until then. The game will ultimately be de-listed in September 2024, which means that it’ll no longer be available to purchase online or at retail.
It’s likely that Sony didn’t want to keep Marvel’s Avengers in the PS Plus catalog until September because the game’s marketplace and other online bells and whistles will be shut down by the end of March as well. All that’ll be left up until September are the online servers.
As for what happens after September, players will be able to play the campaign offline and multiplayer as long as servers are live. However, Crystal Dynamics is making no promises about the future.
It’s highly likely that Marvel’s Avengers’ servers will be switched off shortly after its de-listing so enjoy it while you can.
