The Overwatch 2 beta launched today but PS5 and PS4 players are being plagued with issues and we have a few fixes for you. The problems include server connection issues and an absence of the PvP beta tracker that is needed to access the beta in the first place. Others are unable to find their beta access after purchasing the Watchpoint pack.
Overwatch 2 beta issues and fixes on PS5 and PS4
Those who own the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack will have instant access to the beta today, June 28, but some are struggling to find where they can download the beta. You can find it by going to the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack on the Playstation Store and there will be options on that page to download the beta on either PS5 or PS4. On the Playstation Store website, the Watchpoint Pack page also has those options. It’s a bit more complicated on the mobile app where players need to go to the Watchpoint Pack page, click on the game bundle, and then select the version of the beta they wish to install.
The Overwatch 2 beta server issues are to be expected for such a popular game but this is of no help to players who have “failed to connect to game server”. This is mostly affecting players on PS5 and is being caused by too many players trying to log into the beta. An alternative fix for those wanting to access the beta as soon as possible is to download the PS4 beta instead. This can be found in the PlayStation Store and can be added to your library before being downloaded from there. As the game has cross-progression, if you choose to go back to the PS5 beta at a later date, your progress will all be there for you.
The last issue is more complicated. Some players are unable to get into either the PS5 or Ps4 beta because they are being told they need an Overwatch 2 PvP beta tracker. Unfortunately, this is something that can only be fixed by Blizzard. Both Blizzard Support and PlayStation Support are aware of the issue but there is no estimated time for when there will be a fix for this.
In other news, the crew for the Horizon Netflix series includes members from both The Boys and The Expanse teams. Elsewhere, Persona 5 Royal is reported to include all 45 DLC packs when it’s released.
