PSVR 2 performance surpasses PC VR performance, according to one developer. The CEO of Vankrupt Games, the studio behind acclaimed VR multiplayer shooter Pavlov, told a fan that PSVR 2 is ten percent faster than PC VR. Pavlov is currently available on PC, and will be one of the 30+ PSVR 2 launch games.
PSVR 2 performance is “more efficient” than PC VR, says Pavlov developer
In a screenshot making rounds on Reddit and Twitter, Vankrupt Games founder Davevillz is seen stating that PSVR 2 is “the pinnacle of VR especially for shooters.” He also seems delighted to utilize adaptive triggers to the game’s advantage, giving each weapon different resistance and recoil.
“Its [PSVR 2’s] performance is probably ten percent above PC VR just because it’s a console and rendering is more efficient,” Davevillz wrote. When a fan asked what GPU he is using, Davevillz mentioned the $1,000+ 3090 Ti.
Not sure how accurate this is for other developers, but the Pavlov dev mentioned that for their own game, the PSVR2 is 10% faster than even their 3090TI setup.
If true, it’s exciting that kinda power could be in the hands of so many people for official flat to VR ports. pic.twitter.com/1uTiKbnzfY
