The Last of Us Tess actress Annie Wersching has passed away at the age of 45. Wersching played Tess in 2013’s original release, one of the only two video games she lent her voice and performance capture work to.

In 2019, Wersching was tapped to play Tassyn in BioWare’s Anthem. That would be her last video game appearance. The following year, she was diagnosed with cancer.
“She’s a private person by nature, and the diagnosis made her even more so,” reads a GoFundMe page set up for her young sons. “She wanted to protect her boys. She wanted to get better so she could continue working.”
Naughty Dog tweeted that the studio is “deeply saddened” to hear of Wersching’s passing, and urged fans to donate to the GoFundMe campaign for her children.
