Telltale Games has unfortunately delayed The Wolf Among Us 2 release date out of 2024. In a statement on Twitter, the publisher is still determined to develop a sequel to the original game, which was released episodically back in October 2013.
The Wolf Among Us 2 delay was partially made to avoid crunch culture

The Wolf Among Us 2 delay was made to do “what’s right for the game while protecting the health” of the Telltale development team, according to a tweet by Telltale Games.
Specifically, it was revealed that the reason behind the delay was to “avoid crunch and team burnout” and to transition the game from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, in a report by IGN. Some engineers and artists on the team say that this is well worth the effort, but this has meant that they had to redo “quite a bit of work.”
Telltale Games CEO Jamie Ottilie explained that it wouldn’t do “any good to ship something that’s not ready.” At the same time, he believes that crunch culture “is the wrong thing to do long-term.” He also admitted that it was a struggle to rebuild the studio during the covid-19 pandemic after its closure in 2018.
The Wolf Among Us 2 development has been rocky, to say the least. The game was initially revealed through a teaser trailer all the way back in The Game Awards 2019. Development was “completely restarted” in 2019 and was rumored to have a Winter 2021 release window.
According to info from December 2021, the sequel is set six months after the ending of the original game. The game will also release episodically, though all five episodes will be finished by the time the first episode is available.
