Blast from the past furniture at an Apache Junction, Arizona home built in 1979. Swivel chair!

What about these chairs?!

Retro coolness.

Groovy.

Check out the stand for the drinking glasses.

Nostalgic for a time gone by, we present two homes from Orangeburg, South Carolina that are frozen in time. Enjoy.
This Orangeburg home was built in 1954. The living room features wallpaper, green carpet, and green drapes.

The wallpaper design carries over in the dining room.

The family room or den is quite cozy.

Matching bedspread and drapes in the master bedroom.

Our second featured Orangeburg home was built in 1973. Green and blue were popular colors back in the day.

Everything looks brand new! Kudos to both home owners who’ve loved their homes for decades.

Have we got a treat for you today. A groovy basement in New Jersey. According to the photographer Todd Lappin, this is his neighbor’s basement as it looks today from when it was designed in 1974.

Todd shared the story behind this cool hang-out spot at one of our favorite blogs, BoingBoing.net. Click here for the post.

Groovy!

Super trippy. What a cool space!

Frozen in time. Scottsbluff, Nebraska home built in 1975. Wanna bet these are original owners? Triple mirror. Hanging oil lamp (aka rain lamp). Tulips lights. Classic.

Teddy bear collection to go with the old drapes.

Pan a bit more to the right.

The basement features orange carpet, one of those hideous frilled shade lamps, wood paneling, and an old dinette set.

Shifting slightly to the right, we see a million family photos.

The original bathroom features a Princess slimline phone for those long conversations.

In the late 1970s, sunken beehive fireplace conversation pits were popular in some new subdivisions.

Neat idea? Waste of space? Safety hazard?

One of our readers spotted this house in Port Arthur, Texas. The décor is unchanged since 1971. Complete with shiny flower wallpaper and a fancy chandelier.

Shine on, baby.
