Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon was announced at The Game Awards 2024, along with a release window in a fantastic mech-filled trailer. The FromSoftware franchise hasn’t seen an entry since Armored Core: Verdict Day launched a decade ago, but the developer repeatedly stated it would return someday. Well, we’re closer to knowing what day that’ll be with tonight’s reveal.
Armored Core 6 release window is set for next year
According to the announcement, Armored Core 6’s release date will fall sometime in 2024. The trailer didn’t really clue us in on any story details, but it looks like this entry in the series is set in a post-cataclysmic world. Throughout the trailer, mechs fight and scrap their way across a planet that was impacted by a celestial body.
Previous entries in the series had players taking the role of a mercenary, but you might be just trying to survive this time around. There does seem to be some civilization that’s survived, though, as we can see teams of mechs working together.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any gameplay. However, with how nimble the mechs were in the trailer, we bet the game will likely be faster-paced like Armored Core V.
FromSoftware knocked it out of the park with Elden Ring, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for Fires of the Rubicon.
