Sony’s Nixxes Software could be planning to make Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart its next PlayStation PC port. A new job description for the developer, known for successfully porting over both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to PC, hints that it is looking for an engineer with experience in technology that is essential to Insomniac’s latest Ratchet & Clank game.
This Ratchet & Clank rumor is based on a deduction
A new job listing for a UX/UI Engineer at Nixxes, as found by a user on the GamingLeaksAndRumours Reddit, wants potential candidates to have “experience in using Coherent middleware.” This is in reference to Coherent Labs, which describes itself as creating “the only professional game UI middleware in the world.”
One of the games that Coherent Labs features on its official website is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, along with Control: Ultimate Edition, PUBG, Minecraft, and many more. Putting these two pieces of information together, and it’s reasonable to believe that Rift Apart is Nixxes’s next PlayStation PC port.
Of course, this is just a rumor, so as always, we recommend that you take this with a grain of salt, even if the pieces make a lot of sense together.
Nixxes Software was also part of another rumor suggesting that the Bloodborne PC port was apparently canceled after Virtuos bungled the PC port for Horizon. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart featured free DLC in November 2022 to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary.
