Spec Ops: The Line writer Walt Williams has been promoted from Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 lead writer to narrative director. Williams’ new role is part of a series of internal promotions at Insomniac Games, which saw Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart animator Lindsay Thompson promoted to lead animator on Spider-Man 2 along with James Ham, and Miles Morales writer Mary Kenney promoted to senior writer on Wolverine.
Walt Williams was previously Wolverine PS5 story lead
We’ve barely heard anything about Wolverine since its reveal and it took internet sleuths to discover that Williams was involved in the game’s narrative last October. This is the first time he has publicly acknowledged his role. Going by creative director Brian Horton’s previous comments, Williams will be working on a “mature” story.
I’m too old and tired to figure out how to do a bio change video, but this happened today so that’s fun. pic.twitter.com/9ydrZoXm6Y

Williams previously worked on Star Wars Squadrons and Star Wars Battlefront II among other games, and spent nearly a decade at 2K Games.
As far as Wolverine is concerned, fans are still hungry for information but if a recent tweet by Insomniac Games’ Mike Yosh is any indication, it looks like motion capture work is underway.

Unfortunately, this is all we have for now. Wolverine is a passion project that Insomniac Games pitched to Sony and Marvel following its work on Spider-Man so it understandably wants to wait before showing anything off. The busy studio is working on multiple projects so we can only guess which one we’ll see first.
In other news, Sony has revealed that PSN sales currently generate over $14 billion, and we might finally get some Final Fantasy 7 Part 2 news next month.
